What is OXYBUTYRIC?

Acid A fatty acid found in the urine in certain fevers, and especially in diabetes. Its presence in the body in diabetes, simultaneously with that of diacetic acid, is supposed to be the cause of diabetic coma. The oxybutyric acid of diabetic urine is levo- rotatory.
