What is ORANGE OIL?

From the peel of the fresh fruitthe sweet oil from Citrus aurantium and the bitter oil from C. bigaradia. Both are used for flavouring purposes. The sweet oil exhibits a sp. gr. of trom o847 to o85i; optical rotation, + 97 degrees to ioo degrees, and refractive index, 14710 to 14742. The bitter oil: sp. gr., 0852 to 0856; optical rotation, + 90 degrees to 940; and refractive index, 14730 to 14770.
