Colorless crystals or white powder obtained from sodium iodid with theinby action of sulfuretted hydrogen; it is soluble in water, decomposes in hot water. It is used to increase systolic action and arterial pressure of the heart. Dose, 2-S gr. 2 to 6 times daily in cachets.
