CJ6- HgljOj. A yellowish-green, odorless, tasteless powder obtained from mixed solutions of iodin with potassium iodid and ,3-naphthol with sodium carbonate and S. hypochlorite; it is soluble in chloroform, slightly soluble in alcohol and ether, decomposing by heat with violet fumes. It is used as an antiseptic in place of aristol. Syn., Naphtholaristol; Xaphthol- diiodid.
