(Marsh Marigold. Nat. Ord. Ranunculacese).This is a genus of hardy herbaceous perennials more suitable for the water garden than the borders, though they will succeed in the latter site if kept very moist. It bears large yellow flowers in May, and grows 1-2 ft. in height. This plant must be carefully distinguished from a plant of similar name, Marsh Mallow (Malva sylvestris), an important medicinal plant described under Mallow in our article on Medicinal Herbs.
