Soft deposits constituted of hydrocarbons of complicated composition, often found in association with petroleumas, for example, at Trinidad. They are soluble in carbon disulphide and Russian turpentine, and are largely used for paving purposes, making varnishes, and for lining and cementing watertanks, etc.
