What is ACANTHOLIMON?

(Prickly Thrift. Nat. Ord. Plumbaginaceae). These plants form dense tufts of evergreen spiny foliage. About eight species are in cultivation. All are rock plants, and do best in sunny well-drained positions or on rocky ledges. They are propagated by layering in summer, also by cuttings in July.
